Women’s Expressive Arts Retreat

Throughout herstory, women all over the world have gathered in circles, tended hearth fires and called forth their innate creative and healing powers through story, art and ritual. In this mid-winter women’s retreat, we will use painting, movement, writing, poetry, and mindfulness practices to awaken to the depths of artistry, body wisdom and resourcefulness within us. This is an invitation to enter into a he(art) inquiry, whereby we attend to what longs for nourishment, reflection and integration through contemplative arts practices that support insight, healing and transformation.

We’ll explore what it means to live wholeheartedly as we take time to rest into spacious silence and play, enlivening the long days of winter through our colorful expressions. Whether you are new to the expressive arts or want to dive deeper into your discoveries, this retreat offers a soulful and generative space to cultivate embodied and artful ways of tending the creative fire in everyday life.

Women’s Expressive Arts Retreat

In this women’s expressive arts retreat, we will use art-making, authentic movement, writing, poetry, and mindfulness practices to awaken to the depths of creativity, resourcefulness and body wisdom within us. Exploring metaphors of the autumn season, along with images in our artistic expressions, we will surrender to what is “falling away” in our lives while simultaneously “falling awake” to the present moment and to what longs for expression, nurturance and harvest within us.

This weekend is an invitation to dwell in the rich nourishment available to us when we take time to reflect, replenish, play, and be in creative community with women who are becoming artists of their lives. Whether you are new to the expressive arts or want to dive deeper into your explorations, this retreat offers an enlivening and supportive space to re-imagine your life while cultivating contemplative arts practices that will enrich your everyday life.
